Every swipe,
pinned where it happened.
TallyMap is an iPhone app that shows where you spend: each card swipe becomes a pin at the shop it happened in, counted in tally marks, never in red numbers.
The story
Budgeting apps tell you "dining: $412". TallyMap tells you it was the coffee place near work, nine times, and the taco spot on Geary, four. Spending is grouped by physical place, so the same chain near home and near work are two different pins with two different tallies. The map is the hero; the week, month and year lenses and the ranked list of spots support it.
Money with friends has mostly failed because nobody wants friends to see what they spent. TallyMap's dares show counts only: "no takeout for a week, the loser buys" lives in the group chat through an iMessage extension, a friend accepts from the text in an App Clip without installing, and each phone judges its own swipes locally and reports a single number.
Transactions stay on the iPhone. There is no analytics SDK, no ads, nothing is sold, and the app never asks for your location unless you turn on an optional on-device signal. The free tier never asks for a bank: you drop a stroke on the map where you paid. Core links a bank through Plaid so the pins land by themselves.

Quotes you may use
"Category charts answer 'what'. The map answers 'where' — and 'where' is the one you can actually change."
"Friends see how many times you slipped. Never what you spent. That's the whole trick."
