Why does linking a bank need Core?
Every linked bank costs TallyMap a monthly fee from Plaid, the service that reads your transactions. Core covers it. Counting by hand, the map, the tally, badges, dares and export are free forever.
A pin landed in the wrong place
Open the spot, tap "move it →" or "fix pin →", and pick the right store or put it on the map. Banks often strip the city from a charge, so some pins start as "near?" guesses until you confirm them. Turning on Exact spots in Settings › Map lets your phone match swipes to the stores you actually visited, entirely on the phone.
My bank says "asleep" or asks me to sign in again
Banks expire their logins now and then. Tap "wake it up" and sign in through Plaid again; your history and pins stay. If Settings › Banks shows "will ask you to sign in again soon", you can do it early from there.
Where do I cancel or manage Core?
In iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions, or from Settings › Core in the app. Cancelling stops the next charge; the current period runs out as paid. TallyMap keeps your map; bank sync pauses when Core ends.
I got a free month code
Free months are Apple offer codes. If a friend invited you, the Core card after sign-in reads "Start my free month" and opens Apple's redeem page with the code filled in; Settings › Invites also takes a code you were sent. If someone you invited went Core, a "🎁 free month waiting" pill shows over the map: tap it, then "Redeem in the App Store". Each code works once, for the account it was handed to.
Dares and friends
What can my friends see?
Only counts: how many times each member slipped, their name and emoji for that dare. Never an amount, a merchant or a place. Nobody outside the dare sees anything.
Someone sent me a link but the app is not installed
On an iPhone the link opens an App Clip: you can accept the dare and count by hand without downloading anything. Install the full app later and the dare comes with you.
How many dares can I run at once?
Three live dares, pairs and crews together. Spotless Week in January is extra and never counts.
Your data
Where is my bank data stored?
On your iPhone, encrypted by iOS. Transactions pass through TallyMap's server to your phone and are not kept there. The full story is in the privacy policy.
How do I export everything?
Settings › Data › Export everything (CSV) gives you a file of every transaction. Free tier included.
How do I delete my account?
Settings › Danger zone › Delete my account. It removes your account, profile, invite code, dares and bank tokens from the server, revokes the bank links at Plaid and Sign in with Apple, and wipes the phone. It cannot be undone. Signing out alone wipes the phone and keeps the account.
